Best Ads in 2009

TV ads may or may not influence your buying decisions, but the power of a good ad ranges from increasing product sales to pure entertainment during breaks.
Bindass.com brings you five ads that definitely captured attention and made people look forward to breaks just to view them.

Beginning the list on the 5th place are the amazing Bajaj Discover ads that allowed us to ‘discover’ otherwise unknown areas of our own country. The Discover which gives more mileage on one litre of petrol allows you to take that route ahead which otherwise you may not have been able to due to lack of fuel. The ads feature some of these isolated places along with our colourful and beautiful culture.

Fourth we have Cadbury Diarymilk which targets smaller markets with the celebration of payday. The ad itself is a celebration which shows the traditional Indian way of marking an auspicious day with sweets. Cadbury aims at replacing the customary Indian sweets with a Cadbury Diarymilk. Almost everyone can relate to this ad with the jubilation felt when receiving a month’s hard work pay off in monetary gratification.

WARNING : You are about to witness a catchy tune, that may get stuck in your head for a very, very long time!

Third is Bingo! The Bingo ads are so hilarious, each one of them getting funnier than the last. Most recently, they cracked everyone up with their last two for their salty (ghaav pe namak!) and chilli (day and night, I am waiting, waiting…) flavours. Bingo chips because of their ads are soon taking over the chip market to truly become the ‘crunchiest potato chips!’

As it has been for sooooo many years, Fevicol still manages to grab attention and amuse people. This year they launched teaser campaigns which began with the words ‘Moochwali, India’s official entry to the Cannes.’ Little did we know that it is one of our entries for the Cannes Lions, the global premiére advertising fest. In any case, Moochwali is a funny, memorable ad which is definitely going to make you smile.

Top of our list, we have Vodafone Zoozoos. I don’t think there’s a single person who did not find them delightful and entertaining. At the beginning everyone was mystified with the origin of the Zoozoos. Were they animated? Were they actual people? Almost a year later, the mystery has been revealed and Vodafone is still churning out new zoozoo ads which continue to make us go “Awwwww!!”

Worthwhile mentions include, Max New York Life Insurance (Gande Underwear Alag Se Rakhna), Surf Excel (Daag Ache Hain, doggy style), Tata Tea (Khilana Bandh, Pilana Shuru), Docomo (The Acapella), Idea (Walk and Talk)
