Combine The Truman Show – Jim Carrey + Animation, the result you get it is the latest Disney Adventure ‘Bolt’. Bolt finally strikes in India after a long wait (was nominated previous year’s Oscar) and how does this one fare? Here it goes.

Bolt is a dog that happens to be a star of a fictional sci-fi/action show, about the dog’s super-awesome powers which he believes is real. And after getting lost on the sets he embarks on a crazy journey to save his co-star from a threat which he believes is just as real as his powers. Get ze drift???? On his journey he is accompanied by Mittens (a stray cat who lives by the ‘Beg-and-survive’ rule) and Rhino , a fast talking Hamster who is Bolt’s biggest fan (smallest in size though) and believes Bolt is actually a real character and wants to be with him to destroy the green-eyed villain alongside Bolt.

Well you do feel sorry for the dog, but mostly because the movie is seen through his eyes and you see the difference between reality and fiction which Bolt cant.

The script is intelligent and fast paced giving you plenty of edge of the seat action. The effects of the movie are incredible adding realism. Some scenes look so real you’ll forget it’s an animated feature. All thanks to the awesomeness of 3D. Even though Bolt is the star of the movie, the real humour comes from his companions Mittens the cat and Rhino ‘fanboy’ Hamster and also the stupid wannabe cool ‘pigeons’. You’ll start loving all characters as the movie progresses. At times you just wanna tear the screen and shout “For Dogs sake, it’s not real”.

Cool storyline, superb 3D effects, Lovable characters and Edge of seat thrill, Bolt has it all. This one should easily be your pick of the week if you are looking for some good family
