Tempest
Any guesses for what it stands for? It’s an Indian hurricane … nope! Then it must be a Mirandian fashion label (to be launched soon in next year’s fashion week) … no you imbecile! Behold! It’s the annual festival of the Miranda House … Absolutely right! Is baat pe tumhe milte hai 100 points! Tempest is DU’s one of the renowned campus fests. The event has a varied mix of competitions and events to make an interesting punch of fun and excitement. The traditional favorites are like the Western and Indian music and dance, choreography, debate, street play and English play competitions. Last year’s Tempest saw some novel activities conducted by the Adventure Society. Students enjoyed Rappelling, Burma Bridge, Flying Fox and Cat & Pirate Walk. Every department has it’s own festival (this brings in much gutbazi no matter how much friendly everyone appear to be). If you surf the college website then you can see that honorable guests like the Bombay Rockers have graced the event once.
