Kambakkht Ishq.

Music: Annu Malek (Oye its apna Anu Malik), RDB (Om Mangalam) & Salim Merchant.
Lyrics: RDB, Anvita Dutt Guptan, Sabbir Khan.
Cast: Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor.

The movie has already raised a lot of buzz and expectations, because of some big gora names acting in it.(I am sure they were paid more than our stars just to take a walk on the sets while the camera was rolling). But, the music has no gora names associated with it..so its completely desi stuff..!

The album starts off with a really good track, ‘Om Mangalam’ (sung and composed by RDB), which is currently on air & is a sure-shot chartbuster. You are bound to keep that track on a repeat mode…!

‘Lakh Lakh; (sung by Neeraj Sridhar), is a typical Punjabi or rather ‘funjabi’ song you can say…quite a competent follow up to the popular ‘Om Mangalam’.

‘Bebo’, sung by Alisha Chinoy (no, it’s not talking about the Bebo in the movie) is a very average number, strung along with the other popular tracks of the album. Don’t expect a ‘Kajrare’ from this track..!

Put on your dancing shoes & gather all your energy before the start of ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ (KK & Sunidhi Chauhan)!.It’s the most energetic number of the album with peppy, fresh & hep lyrics…!! This is gonna be the song for all the college junta in 2009’s festivals and celebrations..!

Following up the title track comes a soft, soulful and melodious ‘Kyun’ (Shaan & Shreya Ghoshal), it’s a perfect track to enjoy your coffee to, looking into your sweetheart’s eyes..! Really a song to sing and dedicate your loved one, it also comes with a solo female version sung by Shreya, which is equally good

‘Welcome to Hollywood’ (Karsh Kale & Anushka Manchanda) is the angrezi gaana, which sounds more like nursery rhyme. It’s probably played in the movie when the camera is panning the Hollywood skyline from a heli cam..!

The album overall is very good if you leave out the ‘Bebo’ song & a number of remixes (Read: jumbled up compositions). My pick of the album is deifnitely “Kyun” and “Kambakkht Ishq”.

Verdict: Bound to be played in a lot of places on repeat mode, the album is complete paisa vasool. Go Buy IT..!

It was a horrible soundtrack! Has Anu Malik’s ear fallen off, or has he lost his taste in musical composition. The songs sounded as if a 10 year old accidentally made music by pressing random keys in the machine. Why is all the talent in the Indian film industry used for projects like this? Where is standard for creating a work of art?
