It’s a highly debated matter as to how many housing societies are near Miranda House, but the college itself has come up with societies to save itself from this disgrace. So, here we go … we have one Adventure Club (sounds cool, huh?), then one Hindi dramatics society called Anukriti and one English drama society called The Ariels.
As part of the adventure club, the members participate in activities like treasure hunt, run for fun, logo-making competition (wonder how come it’s adventurous? Keep guessing), north campus exploration and stuff like that. Don’t mess with them as they take fun seriously. But what actually stands out is the motto of the club – Sahas … Feel the Risk;
Anukriti – the Hindi Dramatics society has had a successful 2008-09 session. They made a play for Akshay Urja Diwas and bagged the 2nd prize. They are much into street plays and came out with the production Gum Awaaz which won much appreciation.
The Ariels – the English dramatic society take in almost anyone and everyone who are even vaguely interested in theatre. You can’t blame them for such easy eligibility test given the fact that theatre is dying art. So, feel free to contact us, provided you manage to get an admission in the college … hmph.
