Director: McG
Star cast: Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Moon Bloodgood, and Helena Bonham Carter

Arnold said ‘I’ll be back’. He lied. But at least the franchise is back. The 4th installment of the ever famous Terminator saga is finally here. The Terminator series has a reputation of coming up with sequels in a long time….1984, 1992, 2003 and now 2009.

As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet’s operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind i.e John Connor struggles to keep the machine from finishing the job.

First things first…Mr. Batman Bale gives you the bestest John Connor there ever was with his fantastic performance. The screenplay does have its cheesy moments but much of it is forgiven due to the excellent detail (things even connecting to the first movie). The movie is fast paced and you soon realize that the script is much more than bang and cheese. Cinematography is top notch and gives depth to the visuals…..Ok here is the best part…..The visuals…..Its mind blasting….I mean anything can blow your mind…but blast it??? This one sure does….you just can’t get enough of it. It has got loads of man-on-machine action with CG guys doing wonders and giant robots would make you pee in your pants…Its pure eye-candy. This is the result when you let CG guys work in peace. The story takes you through rough moments and if you are not a follower of the series chances are you might be at loss and scratch your heads. Some may also complain that McG got a bit too inspired by the CG guys, he forgot about ‘Character Development’, but that’s not entirely true. The old school soundtrack remains giving you goose bumps every now and then.

McG proves his worth with good direction, alas James Cameroon can rest in peace (NO! he isn’t dead yet!). This movie kicks some robotic ass and will definitely give Transformers 2 (this one has autobots though) a run for its money. And the news has it…..they are gonna make this one into a trilogy…wooohooo….Hope they don’t delay it like the earlier ones.

Just saw this last night at a paid preview (love those things, btw) - I don’t know - for the amount of hate this movie got, I was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting something more along the lines of Underworld: Evolution or Ultraviolet. But this really was an ok movie… Yes, the last scene was damn cheesy, though. That ending was really _not_ required!

Saw this one couple of days back…After Terminator 3 my expectations had hit rock bottom with this one, I’m glad it lived up to them..only if they showed a little more of Mr Schwarzenegger.
