Director: Gavin Hood
Star cast: Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber
The first prequel to the X-men saga was the most anticipated of all…well why it shouldn’t be? With the movie costing a whooping $150 million (equivalent to our 10 Devdas’s) you definitely expect some kickass action and some mindboggling special effects and the most important part, a good storyline. And does Wolverine keep up to those promises?
You bet it does!
The creators of the X-men saga had a no-brainer of a decision in going with Wolverine since he is the most popular mutant with his killer claws making their rounds for the 4th time on the big screen.
The movie is through the eyes of Logan, later turned Wolverine & how he lives a life of a mutant, seeks revenge against Victor Creed (who later becomes Sabertooth) for the death of his girlfriend, and ultimately ends up going through the mutant Weapon X program.
The movie starts with a BANG…..the opening credits are so superbly done you shouldn’t be surprised if a fly sits in your wide open mouth. The pace goes on and on with Wolverine and his fellow mutants giving us some zabardast jaw-dropping fight sequences, largely of which are computer-generated destruction, but who gives a damn when you see wolverine bringing a helicopter down with his claws….Helllll Yeaa!!
However the movie loses its track in the second half. The narration gets weaker and you’ll find yourself comparing the movie with the X-men comics and feel disappointed.
Hugh Jackman makes this movie for what its worth with his sparkling performance added to life by the retraceable razor sharp claws which makes you go like…”OMG, There he goes again…woooaahh”. Liev Schreiber as Victor is a stunner.
X-Men Origins Wolverine unapologetically is a grand, loud action, CG driven sometimes loose on narration, half-sketched characters but never getting draggy summer flick. And although it’s not as great as the X-Men Trilogy this movie shouldn’t be missed for obvious reasons.

this movie kicked some serious ass !
yes it sure did…..i loved the final fight sequence between victor and Wolverine….mindblowing
Dude awsome movie
After a dry spell of good movies comes this extravaganza called Wolverine….hugh jackman at usual best…..he does remind me of Hritik roshan at times…Lolzz
